Dhanteras puja
5:25 PM — 7:49 PM
The first day of Diwali — wellbeing, and a considered purchase.
About the day
Dhanteras (Dhantrayodashi) honours Dhanvantari and Kubera. A purchase of metal — gold, silver or a new utensil — is traditionally made, and the lamp for Yama is lit at dusk.
How it is observed
Light a lamp at the threshold at dusk, and make any purchase within the Pradosh window.
