Windows Explained
What these times mean, in plain words.
A Vedic day is divided into windows. Some are sought for beginnings, others are kept free of them. Here is each one — with its time today in Amritsar.
-
1
Find the gold window
The day's best time to begin something that matters. Today it's 6:28 AM — 7:56 AM.
-
2
Steer around Rahu Kaal
Shown in red. Don't start anything important inside it — work already under way can carry on. Today: 12:18 PM — 1:45 PM.
-
3
Read the Moon's mood
The nakshatra colours the whole day. Today the Moon is in Magha — a fierce day.
Seek these for beginnings

Today
3:12 PM — 4:40 PM
Brahma Muhurta
"The creator's hour" — about 96 minutes before sunrise.
Use it for · Prayer, meditation and study.
Today

Keep these free
Rahu Kaal

BEYOND TODAY
Need something more personal?
Daily timing is the same for everyone in Amritsar. Your chart, your situation and your family's practice are not.
Timings are calculated for Amritsar (Asia/Kolkata) using the Lahiri ayanamsa and the amanta calendar. Regional traditions may observe some dates differently — for a muhurta that matters, ask a practitioner to confirm it for you.
